After a traumatic divorce, the successful musician Peter Harper falls into a serious emotional and creative crisis and decides to seek peace and inspiration in a remote place on the coast of Ireland, Tremore Beach. The isolated beach house seems to have been made for him. His only neighbors are the unusual American couple Kogan, with whom he quickly becomes friends, and he also meets a new interesting girl, Judie, a foreigner like him, who runs a small shop in the town and organizes various events, from movie nights and alternative concerts to yoga classes. One stormy evening he is struck by lightning, after which he begins to suffer from terrible headaches and strange dreams.
