Iskričavi cijanid

Agatha Christie

First published in 1945, this novel explores the mystery of the death of Rosemary Barton, a young woman who died during a dinner with friends, apparently as a result of suicide caused by cyanide poisoning.

The story gains momentum a year after that tragic event, when her husband George Barton becomes convinced that her death was not suicide, but murder. George organizes another dinner with the same guests, hoping to uncover the truth about what happened. However, the plan ends with another shocking crime.

Unlike many of Christie's other works, this does not involve her most famous detectives, Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple, but instead relies on psychological analysis and character relationships to unravel the mystery.

The novel is known for its atmosphere of tension, brilliant plot and unexpected denouement, which is the author's trademark. "Sparkling Cyanide" was also adapted for television, which further testifies to its popularity.
