Ovo je zbirka priča američkog pisca Breta Hartea, koji je poznat po svojim djelima inspiriranim životom na američkom Zapadu tijekom zlatne groznice u 19. stoljeću.

Harteove priče često prikazuju neobične i grube, ali časne likove – kopače zlata, kockare, pustolove i odmetnike – smještene u surove, ali romantične krajolike divlje Kalifornije.
