Prvi snijeg

Prvi snijeg

Mihailo Lalić

The novel's plot follows the fate of the main character, Lukan, who, after World War II, faces difficult life circumstances and moral dilemmas in the new social order.

Lukan is a former partisan trying to find his place in post-war Montenegro, where the ideals he fought for are often in conflict with reality. Through his story, Lalić depicts the cruelty of life, social changes and people's inner struggles, emphasizing that war does not end only on the battlefield, but leaves deep consequences on the psyche and destinies of individuals. The first snow symbolizes innocence, a new beginning, but also the cold and uncertainty that a new era brings.
