Zagor LU #180: Vojna pratnja
Zagor escorts the mutant Skull towards Washington. The prisoner promises cooperation, but unexplained accidents along the journey cast doubt on his true intentions.
Vojna pratnja continues the storyline begun in Povratak mutanta. Zagor joins a military patrol escorting Colin Randall, known as Skull, to Washington. The dangerous prisoner is supposedly ready to cooperate with the authorities, although his past offers ample reason for caution.
Professor Blaine believes the mutant can be trusted. During the journey, however, Zagor notices unexplained accidents that gradually undermine confidence in the operation’s security.
Burattini constructs a thriller about control, manipulation and an uncertain alliance. Weapons and military discipline appear to guarantee safety, yet the prisoner’s abilities challenge the value of those precautions. Zagor must assess events without knowing whether they are coincidences or parts of a concealed plan.
Suspense grows from the relationship between an apparently compliant captive and those responsible for transporting him. Marco Verni’s artwork emphasises expressions, physical danger and the unease spreading through the group. The journey becomes a test of judgement as much as endurance.
This is part two of the four-issue storyline spanning Ludens #179–182. It follows Povratak mutanta and leads into Plamena zamka and the concluding Čovjek s dva mozga.
