Zagor LU #113: Božica Mjeseca
On the Caribbean island of Ninguén, Zagor meets the vampire Ylenia Varga again. Alongside Captain Alec Wallace, he confronts Van Zant’s vampires amid shifting alliances.
In Božica mjeseca, Zagor’s Caribbean adventure reaches the island of Ninguén, where he encounters the vampire Countess Ylenia Varga once more. Her presence complicates the struggle against Van Zant’s vampires. Old acquaintances, unexpected reversals and shifting alliances make it difficult to distinguish potential allies from immediate threats.
Fighting alongside Zagor is Alec Wallace, a captain in the British navy. Yet weapons and courage are only part of the conflict. Ylenia’s past and a love she believed lost forever become important to the story, linking present danger with emotions that have survived for centuries.
Mauro Boselli combines vampire horror, maritime adventure and Gothic romance. The Caribbean setting provides a different backdrop for the vampire tale, while the countess introduces tension between affection, personal desire and her predatory nature. Zagor must navigate a confrontation in which relationships between the participants continually change.
Raffaele Della Monica illustrates the conclusion of the two-part adventure begun in Ludens #112, Crni brod. Reading both issues provides the background to the arrival on Ninguén and the development of the conflict.
