Pirati s Kariba: Nepoznate plime

Pirati s Kariba: Nepoznate plime

Tim Powers

A historical fantasy adventure set during the golden age of piracy in the early 18th century. The novel served as the inspiration for the fourth film in the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), although the film deviates significant

The main character, John Chandagnac, a puppeteer who travels to the Caribbean to reclaim his family's inheritance from his greedy uncle, is forced to join a pirate crew after his ship is attacked. He takes on the new name, Jack Shandy, and soon finds himself in a world of magic, voodoo rituals, zombies, and the search for the legendary Fountain of Youth.

Shandy falls in love with Beth Hurwood, the daughter of an eccentric professor who plans to transfer his deceased wife's soul into his own daughter's body. The story also involves a real-life historical figure, the infamous pirate Blackbeard, who seeks immortality through the Fountain of Youth.

The novel combines real-life historical figures with supernatural elements, creating a dark and exciting atmosphere. Powers skillfully blends historical facts with fantastical elements, providing the reader with a unique story full of action, intrigue, and magic.
