Pavao Pavličić, the author of numerous literary and scientific works, in his latest book "A Small Typology of Modern Croatian Poetry" analyzes in detail all the characteristics of Croatian poetry from the modern period to the present day. In seven chronologically arranged extensive chapters, the periods of Croatian modernity and avant-garde are discussed, then the lyrics of the thirties and forties of the last century, as well as the post-war period, which follows the trends and innovations immediately after 1945. Following this is the poetry of the "Krugovaci" and then the "Razlogovici" and, finally, the period of postmodernism is discussed. The book is also a small anthology of Croatian poetry, because each chapter also includes a selection of sample poems.
