Istorija engleske književnosti, knjiga I sveska I

"History of English Literature, Book I, Volume I" (1950) is one of the earlier and fundamental publications on the history of English literature in the former Yugoslavia.

Although the specific author is often given depending on the edition and publisher (some editions are translations of classic English literary historians, while others are the work of local authors), this 1950 edition most likely belongs to an edition that was part of an educational or cultural series intended to spread humanistic knowledge in the post-war period. Although the methodology of writing literary history has advanced considerably since 1950 (contemporary approaches include feminist criticism, postcolonial theory, semiotics, etc.), this volume remains important as a historical document on the reception of English literature in the cultural context of the time.
