Logos i apsurd

Logos i apsurd

Daniel Bučan

"Logos and Absurd" is a collection of seven philosophical studies by Croatian philosopher Daniel Bučan, in which the author explores the ontological meaning of logos – words, reason, and order – in contrast to absurdity as a tragic experience of life.

The author, known for his works on Islamic philosophy such as “When Philosophy Spoke Arabic” (2009), here combines Western, Jewish and existential traditions, seeking ways out of meaninglessness in art, religion and thought.

Bučan writes clearly, deeply and interdisciplinary, criticizing postmodern relativism. The book calls for confronting meaninglessness through ethical and spiritual logos, ideal for those interested in ontology and existentialism. In Croatian philosophical journalism, this is a fresh contribution to the discussion of meaning in the postmodern world.
