We will not make a mistake if we position the essential theme of Luca Kozina's collection Escape from the Body, as suggested by the title itself, in the question of the relationship between the body and identity.
What the body says about us, how subordinate we are to it, what social mechanisms it uses to shape our roles, reduce our reach, placing us in a precisely defined place on the scale of values, I believe, for Luca's generation, intimate time has already passed. Escape from the Body, a poetry collection by a young author, is a confrontation with the issues of growing up and maturing in a woman's body, in a world that even today is not particularly inclined to give women space to deal with their most intimately important issues. Among other things, this in itself makes this collection important.
