Leksikon radija i televizije

Leksikon radija i televizije

Second edition! The emergence of radio and television is one of the greatest and most significant discoveries of the 20th century, in which Croatia has participated for a full 80, or 50 years, on an equal footing with other countries.

Few other events have caused so many changes in all areas, from lifestyles to values, from the content of art to the directions of politics, from the triumph of sports to the success or downfall of states. With the advent of electronic "newspapers", new media possibilities emerged that have been fully confirmed in our example - the "journey" of information was shortened, closeness or even intimacy with people ("consumers") was achieved, a wealth of content and expression was achieved, directness of action was enabled, unprecedented strength and power of the media was achieved... But, more than a powerful media fact, radio and television have confirmed themselves as a new cultural fact due to their distinct influence on people's spiritual life and creativity, as a new political fact due to their powerful influence on attitudes and public opinion, as a new civilizational fact due to their decisive influence on the general circumstances and difficulties in which we live. In a short time, new media have become both witnesses and actors, mediators and participants, they have connected all parts of the world, shortened distances to the speed of sound and "light". In short, they have introduced changes that can be compared to those introduced by the airplane before it, or the "chip" after it (at least for now). This Lexicon is partly a testament to this.
