Ljubav, vječna ljubav

Ljubav, vječna ljubav

Karen Aabye

The book Love, Eternal Love is actually a trilogy (known as the Kisumu Heights trilogy) combined into one volume.

The plot follows the dramatic fate of a family over several generations in 19th-century Denmark, and consists of the following parts:

  • It Happened on Kisum Hill (Det skete ved Kisum Bakke): The first part follows the life of Anna, a young woman struggling against social norms and poverty in the countryside of northern Zealand.

  • Mistress of the Imperial Palace (Fruen til Kejsergården): The second part continues the story of her rise, strength and management of a large estate, emphasizing the portrait of a strong and independent woman.

  • We Who Love Life (Vi, der elsker livet): The third part focuses on the development of a village boy, Jesper, the child of a poor widow, who, despite difficult beginnings, becomes a virtuoso on the piano. His life path is determined by two completely different women.
