Horde sa planete Ido

Horde sa planete Ido

Jan de Fast

The atmosphere seems dark and tense, with themes of the collapse of civilization, fear of the unknown, and the conflict between science and superstition.

The novel follows Dr. Alan, a distinguished pathologist who is kidnapped during an interplanetary medical congress and taken to a remote, isolated planet. There lives a colony of outlaws that broke away from the Federation and developed a closed society with harsh rules similar to the time of the Wild West. The colony is hit by a mysterious epidemic that decimates the population. Because of his medical knowledge, Alan agrees to help, even though he knows he will probably never be able to leave the planet. As he tries to discover the cause of the disease, he faces political conflicts, backward ideologies and local legends that claim that "death comes from the ocean". The investigation leads him towards the coast and an unknown threat hidden in the depths of the sea, where science, fear and myths begin to intertwine.
