The Beatles

The Beatles – The Beatles ("White Album"), released by Jugoton, is a licensed Yugoslav release of one of the most influential albums in the history of rock music. The double LP features an exceptionally diverse selection of songs.

The Beatles, better known as The White Album, is the ninth studio album by the British band The Beatles, originally released in 1968. The Yugoslav licensed edition was released by Jugoton, allowing the domestic audience to acquire one of the most important double albums in the history of popular music.

The album contains as many as thirty songs that cover a wide range of musical styles – from rock and blues, through folk and acoustic ballads, to psychedelia, country and avant-garde experiments. Among the most famous songs are Back in the U.S.S.R., Dear Prudence, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Blackbird, Helter Skelter, Revolution 1, Julia and Good Night. The diversity of the compositions best demonstrates the authorial maturity of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ring Starr.

The recognizable minimalist white cover has become one of the most famous designs in the history of discography, and the album itself is regularly included in lists of the best rock releases of all time. Jugoton's licensed edition was highly regarded among domestic collectors because it offered quality printing and sound at a time when original British releases were difficult to obtain.

Today, The Beatles, published by Jugoton, is a sought-after collector's double LP that represents an indispensable part of every serious vinyl collection and one of the most important achievements in the history of popular music.
