Cerebrovascular Surgery (1985) is a major work by Prof. Dr. Sc. Ivan Jeličić, one of the doyens of Croatian neurosurgery. This extensive professional monograph and university textbook represents one of the first comprehensive achievements in the Croatian language focused on the surgical treatment of vascular diseases of the brain and central nervous system. The book deals in detail with the clinical picture, pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures and surgical procedures in the most common cerebrovascular disorders, such as cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVM), intracranial hemorrhages and obstructive diseases of the cerebral arteries. In it, the author combines his own rich clinical experience from the University Hospital Center Zagreb and contemporary world achievements of that time, especially in the development of microneurosurgery. The work is characterized by exceptional systematicity, precise anatomical and surgical descriptions and rich illustrations and angiographic views. Cerebrovascular surgery has played a key role in the education of numerous generations of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and residents, remaining a lasting monument to the development of Croatian medical science and surgery in the second half of the 20th century.
