Tatina medalja

Tatina medalja

Melita Rundek

"Dad's Medal" is a short, imaginative, concise story about the relationship between parents and children, in which we see the problem, rebellion, acceptance and resolution of an unsatisfactory relationship.

I don't want to be my dad's medal anymore! I would like to be a girl!

Parents don't have time, so they pay others to hang out, talk and play with their children. Then they show each other their medals, their children's awards, their children educated in the best schools, who achieve excellent, top results. And children would, if they were children, while they were children, they would rather play than study.

As long as there is a measure in all these parental, educational and children's aspirations, life flows peacefully. When the system is overstressed, there is a problem and a rebellion and a solution. A medal is not the standard for everything. The child is authoritative for everything, both for moderation and for extremes.
