Storytelling is ritualistic. The Thousand and One Nights was created by the vizier's daughter Scheherazade offering stories to the altar of her salvation. Scheherazade told King Šeherban a new story every night. In this way, she saved herself and all other girls in the kingdom from certain death. Disappointed by his first wife's infidelity, Šeherban has her killed and declares all women unfaithful. Because of this, he decides to welcome a new wife into his bedroom every night and, after the first wedding night, will have her executed. And Scheherazade, with interesting stories whose end the king wanted to hear the next evening, delayed the hour of her execution and during that time told a thousand and one stories and gave birth to the king's heirs to the throne.

The stories are testimonies of the antiquity of the Arab world, they are about heroes and their exploits, but also fairy tales about life in the courts, as well as mythical truths about human ascension and suffering. There are many miracles in them, but the greatest miracle is love, so it is also a collection of spiritual and spiritual love as the highest human distinction. This made the Thousand and One Nights a book that was translated more and more, either from Arabic or from the language of previous translations.
