Dama s kamelijama

Dama s kamelijama

Alexandre Dumas

This is the story of the love of two young people, Marguerite Gautier and Armand Duval. Although relationships between men and women have always been complicated enough on their own, this is no typical tale of unrequited love.

Marguerite Gautier is a young Parisian courtesan, tall, with dark eyes and painted eyebrows, and Armando Duval is a lawyer and a young man from a distinguished family.

Marie Duplessis, the most famous courtesan in history, was also the inspiration for the novel.

Marie Duplessis, The Lady with the Camellias died at the age of 23 from tuberculosis. When she died, all of Paris was deeply shaken. Nothing else was discussed.

Thanks to the writer Alexandre Dumas, who was also very much in love with her, she became immortal. He erected a literary monument to his lover with his novel "The Lady with Camellias".
