5 suvremenih poljskih drama

5 suvremenih poljskih drama

Ingmar Villqist, Przemyslaw Wojcieszek, Julia Holewinska, Dorota Maslowska, Malina Przesluga

Although very different, these dramas are connected by social engagement and positioning towards social issues that characterize the reality of Poland at the beginning of the 21st century.

Authors of plays do not avoid controversial topics, i.e. there are no topics that are inappropriate to write about. In their opinion, discussions on some taboo topics are more than necessary, not only to find a solution to the problem, but also to improve the culture in society of dealing with important topics that have been kept quiet for too long, to spread awareness of certain phenomena, especially in the country with a conservative party in power, when its actions imply radical moves and restrictions that threaten the fundamental liberal values and freedoms of citizens, especially women's rights.
