At the UN building in New York, the American ambassador receives a threatening letter infected with an unknown virus. On the other side of the world, in the suburbs of Paris, the mutilated body of a fugitive geneticist was found. He sent his last message, a desperate plea for help, to his old friend Hawker, an outcast like himself and a former CIA agent. His final legacy was the fingerprints he left on a letter addressed to the ambassador. Hawker, who is determined to avenge the death of his friend, and at the same time to dig up the truth, no matter how deeply hidden, teams up with Danielle Laidlaw, an employee of the US National Research Institute. They go in search of the killers and the secrets that his dead friend lost or maybe sold. From the streets of Paris to an underground art auction in the catacombs of Beirut and the harsh deserts of Iran, Hawker and Danielle are on the hunt for the leader of a murderous sect, the possessor of a scientific weapon with which humanity could find a new Eden... or create Hell on Earth.
