Ben-Hur: Priča o Kristu objavljen je 12. studenog 1880., i smatra se "najutjecajnijom kršćanskom knjigom devetnaestog stoljeća". Postao je najprodavaniji američki roman, nadmašivši po prodaji Kolibu strica Toma Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Ovo je priča o avanturama židovskog princa koji je nepravedno optužen i poslan na rimsku galiju kao rob. Nakon godina borbe za Rimsko carstvo, vraća se kući da se osveti onima koji su ga izdali.

Roman je takođe inspirisao i čuveni film “Ben Hur” iz 1959. godine, koji je osvojio 11 Oskara i ostao neprevaziđen. U filmu, kao i u knjizi, pratimo sudbinu Jude Ben Hura, njegovu borbu za slobodu i osvetu, ali i njegovu unutarnju transformaciju. Ova priča o izdaji, ljubavi i iskupljenju ostavlja dubok utisak na čitaoce i gledaoce, a njen značaj prepoznat je i od strane pape Leona XIII.
