Ponoćno sunce: Zbornik pesničkih snoviđenja

Vasko Popa

An anthology of fantasy in Serbian literature from the XIII-XX centuries, selected and edited by Vasko Popa. The anthology is illustrated with illustrations, which are characterized by dreams and imagination.

From the Introduction:

"Here, over the precipice of conquered terror, on the fiery pillars of won wonder, poets build for us a humanized and inviolable star municipality. From the poets, we will learn how we can settle in it, how we can preserve and give wings to our naked life in it a little easier. I've been dreaming of a book of dreams for a long time, a book made of the most beautiful (for me, the most beautiful) dreams of Serbian poets. I dreamed of a dream book in which the poets themselves interpret their dreams and visions. I dreamed of a magic box in which the keys to the dream world were hidden. Anyone who wants to learn how to handle these keys should open the box. It's best to do it around midnight."
