Years pass, the heroine does not marry and becomes part of a growing group of unmarried, educated thirty-one-year-old women who, together with wounded men, are part of the lost generation of the sixty-somethings and who are trying to return to normal in various ways. In these attempts, he comes to conclusions that he shares with readers in the form of witty advice.
