Glavni tokovi marksizma
One of the most important and comprehensive works on Marxism in which Kołakowski, a former Marxist and sharp critic of Marxist ideology, analyzes the evolution of Marxism, exploring the various phases, ideas and philosophical currents within the Marxist t
Kołakowski viewed Marxism through a historical, ideological and philosophical context, giving a broad overview of its development from the classical Marxism of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to its various modifications and interpretations throughout history. The author divided Marxism into three main currents:
Classical Marxism deals with the foundations of Marxist thought through the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, examining their philosophy of history, dialectical materialism, theory of class struggle, labor-capital relations, and the concept of communism.
Leninism, Trotskyism and Stalinism - here Kołakowski explores the development of Marxism through the Russian Revolution and the Soviet Union. He discusses how Lenin's revolutionary interpretation of Marxism was a turning point that laid the foundation for later Stalinism and Stalinism, as well as the Trotskyist opposition, thus adapting Marxist ideas to the political reality of the time.
Modern Marxism and Revisionism - the final section focuses on interpretations and modifications of Marxism in the twentieth century, especially among Western intellectuals. This section deals with the development of critical theory, the Frankfurt School, and attempts to adapt Marxism to new social and economic conditions. Kołakowski criticizes revisionist tendencies and theoretical innovations such as Eurocommunism and humanist Marxism.
Kołakowski considered Marxism a complex and contradictory philosophy, whose main contradictions became clearer in political practice. In his analysis, he shows a tendency to take a skeptical view of Marxist ideals and points out that they were often in conflict with reality. He believed that Marxism had inherent philosophical and ideological weaknesses that contributed to abuses and repression in the name of communist ideas, especially in totalitarian regimes.
The book attracted a lot of attention not only among critics of Marxism, but also among those who wanted a deeper understanding of the evolution and influence of Marxist thought.
The book consists of 3 volumes.
