Deseti dar

Deseti dar

Jane Johnson

In her first novel, the former editor of an English publishing house weaves a story based on the life of Julia, the owner of a needlework accessories store.

For parting with her lover, Julija receives a manual with embroidery patterns from 1625, in which she discovers strange notes. Their author, Cat Ann Tregenna, a servant from Cornwall, is kidnapped by Muslim pirates who intend to sell her into slavery in Morocco, but along the way, Cat gets an opportunity to use her skill with a needle to save the pirate captain's life and inadvertently lose her heart. Inspired by a handy diary, Julija goes in search of evidence that Cat is a real person.
