Srimad Bhagavatam – Treće pevanje – Prvi deo

Srimad Bhagavatam

We must know the present need of human society. And what is that need? Human society is no longer limited to certain countries or communities.

It is wider than in the Middle Ages and there is an aspiration for one state in the world or one human community. According to Srimad-Bhagavatam, the ideals of spiritual communism are more or less based on the unity of the entire human society or the total energy of living beings. Famous thinkers feel the need to make this a great ideology. Srimad Bhagavatam will fulfill this need of human society. That is why one begins with the dictum of Vedanta philosophy janmady asya yataḥ to establish the ideal of a common goal.

At the present time, human society is not in the darkness of oblivion. We are making rapid progress in the material field, education and economic development around the world. However, there is a sting that bothers human society in a broader sense, which is why general disagreements arise even over unimportant issues. There is a need to find a solution so that humanity can unite in peace, friendship and prosperity with one common goal. Srimad Bhagavatam will fulfill this need as it is a book that will spiritualize the entire human society.

Srimad Bhagavatam should also be introduced to schools and colleges, as it is recommended by the famous devotee-disciple Prahlada Maharaja, in order to change the demonic face of society. (Bhag. 7.6.1)
