Zagor LU #150: Južne vode
Zagor protects escaped convicts from Quanah’s warriors but intends to return them to prison, as his clash with the dangerous Bimbo Sullivan reaches its peak.
Južne vode continues the desperate escape from Waterwall penitentiary. Pursued by Quanah’s warriors, the fugitives struggle through difficult swampland, with Zagor providing their strongest protection. His assistance does not mean approval of their escape: he intends to preserve their lives and return them to lawful custody.
This places him between two dangers. A ruthless pursuit threatens the group from outside, while Bimbo Sullivan, an old enemy and the most dangerous fugitive, poses a threat from within. Protecting the hunted does not mean trusting everyone, forcing Zagor to prevent violence while watching those he is helping.
Moreno Burattini develops an adventure western in which justice cannot be reduced to a simple distinction between prisoners and pursuers. Hostility, suspicion and the struggle to survive intensify the conflict as Zagor’s confrontation with Sullivan approaches a decisive moment. Respect for human life and responsibility to the law create the story’s central tension.
Mauro Laurenti illustrates the swamp setting and action sequences. This is the third instalment of the four-part adventure begun in Močvara robijaša. The conclusion follows in Ludens #151, Otok zmija.
