The story "Pizarro at the Incas" describes Pizarro's conquest of the Inca Empire in Peru in the 1530s. With a small group of 180 men, Pizarro took advantage of the civil war between Atahualpa and Huáscar. The key moment is the battle of Cajamarca in 1532, where he captures Atahualpa, despite the numerical superiority of the Incas. The comic shows Pizarro's cunning as well as cruelty, including treachery and massacre, as he amasses vast wealth. The story highlights the tragic consequences for the Incas and colonial exploitation.
The second story, "Valdivia in Chile," follows Pedro de Valdivia and his conquest of Chile in the 1540s. The comic depicts his colonization efforts, conflicts with the native Mapuches, and the founding of cities like Santiago. Valdivia's adventurism stands out, but so do the brutal clashes with the natives. Both stories provide insight into an age of exploration, courage, greed and destruction.
