Oganj i ruža - Pjesme narodne revolucije

Oganj i ruža - Pjesme narodne revolucije

Jure Kaštelan

The following pages are torn from the book of the people's revolution. From the book? No, from the womb, from the veins, from the bloodstream, from the roots of life. They are the history of love.

The history of love is not tied to days. It is universal. Great social upheavals and changes in our earthly, human scale – mean more than a few dates, more than stating established facts. The turning points in the history of society and man are not significant only as bare facts, but also as symbols and lights on the path to the complete humanization and liberation of man. The following pages are just an excerpt from the great epic, which is in the most literal sense written with lives, blood and the last breath. The idea of this collection arose at the suggestion of the editorial board of the publishing company Kultura, which determined the criterion and purpose of its publication, which is. to record the tenth anniversary of the people's revolution with poetic works that were created in the people's liberation struggle. In compiling this collection, I adhered to the above criterion and chose texts in which I found the breath of poetry and the breath of those days when the crime and anger of the world could not be silenced only with a drop of black, but with a struggle and a determined heart.
