Blago na putevima Jugoslavije: Enciklopedijsko-turistički vodič

Blago na putevima Jugoslavije: Enciklopedijsko-turistički vodič

A comprehensive encyclopedic guide to the cultural and natural heritage of the SFRY. Created in the spirit of Yugoslav tourism in the 1980s, the book serves as a practical tool for travelers, offering not only routes and descriptions, but also in-depth in

The structure of the book is regional and logical: it begins with an introductory section with instructions for use, including tips for planning a trip, maps and indexes. This is followed by detailed descriptions by republic – SR Croatia (from Dubrovnik to Zagreb, focus on the Adriatic coast, national parks and Renaissance cities), SR Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mostar bridges, stećci, oriental Sarajevo), SR Slovenia (Ljubljana Baroque, Bled), SR Serbia (Kalemegdan, monasteries), SR Montenegro (Kotor and Budva heritage), SR Macedonia (Ohrid pearls, Skopje), SAP Vojvodina and SAP Kosovo (Novi Sad Baroque, Peć Patriarchate). Each section is rich in color photographs, drawings, plans and anecdotes, highlighting the "treasures" – archaeological sites, churches, castles, natural beauties.

The themes are Yugoslav: multiethnic harmony, brotherhood and unity, with an emphasis on unused gems such as Roman forums, medieval fortresses and ethno-villages. The book is not only a guide, but also a celebration of diversity – from the Dalmatian rocks to the alpine peaks of Triglav. As a relic of Cold War optimism, today it evokes nostalgia for a lost paradise, ideal for lovers of historical tourism.
