Stripoterapija

Stripoterapija

Ana Petrović

The book Stripoterapija brings an authentic, moving, and humorous story about the psychotherapy process of the main character, with whom we as readers easily connect.

The autobiographical story of the main character and her psychotherapist begins with the recognition of a problem and the need to seek help in solving it. Several striking symbols and figures that are repeated from comic to comic confirm the repetitiveness of the process, and thus the heroine's persistence in making progress in solving the problem with the help of the therapist. On the other hand, small details – variations in facial expressions, body position, clothing and ambience – attract the reader's attention and subtly but effectively, and always humorously, highlight key meanings in each comic. These details authentically depict the ups and downs of this process, which has no final end. The relationship between the therapist and the client, although it can often seem antagonistic, illuminates different angles of the heroine's struggle, which can sometimes be unpleasant and difficult, and sometimes fun and relieving, but always accompanied by the support of the person sitting across from her and who, as in the comic, is always there when needed.
