"The Vanishing World" (1968) by Josef Auguste is a popular science book that depicts the life of ancient animals and plants through interesting stories and illustrations.
The main character is the boy Ivančica, who lives with his mother and grandmother. His family is poor but warm-hearted. Ivančica is a special boy because he has golden hair, which is why he is called "Goldsmith's Little Gold".
The story takes place in a small Dalmatian town during the summer holidays. The main character, Petar, along with his friends Koko, Zec and Mirko, get into a series of comical and tense adventures.
The short story "The Bear and the Fox" was published by Fehim H. Baščausević in the magazine Behar Vi/3 in 1905. "Višeput prevareni vuk" was published in 1883 by Nikola Tordinac in the book Croatian Folk Songs and Tales from Bosnia.
