Doba strasti
An emotional story about Kate, the young wife of the famous rugby player Tom. After an idyllic marriage, tragedy (a bullet, a suicide attempt) changes everything. Kate is left alone with her child, dealing with losses and searching for a new life and love
The Seasson of Passion (1979) Danielle Steel is a classic romance novel full of drama, sadness and hope. The main character Kate meets Tom Harper, a famous and adored rugby player, when she is eighteen years old. Love flares up quickly – they marry against the will of her parents. Several idyllic years pass in happiness, fame and togetherness.
However, everything is destroyed by one tragic event: a bullet (in a failed suicide attempt) ends Tom's career and changes his life forever. Kate is left alone, pregnant, faced with the loss of the man she loves, financial problems and social pressures. The novel follows her struggle – from despair, through raising her son alone, to a slow opening to new love and personal healing.
Steel masterfully builds emotional tension: the collision of passion and responsibility, loss and hope, ambition and sacrifice. The style is typical of her novels – warm, intimate, with an emphasis on the heroines' inner worlds, unexpected twists and final optimism.
