The book "Shine, Shine, Little Sun" (1987) by Branko Jurce is a children's novel that depicts childhood, family relationships, and growing up through a warm and emotional story.
The plot follows a girl (in some editions called Anica) and her everyday life, filled with childish worries, joy and imagination. Her experiences depict family relationships, friendships and the first life difficulties she encounters. The motif of the sun ("sunshine") plays an important role as a symbol of warmth, security and hope.
