Kao huia kao voda kao stablo

Kao huia kao voda kao stablo

Emilija Kovač

The collection consists of poems written in prose, divided into seven thematic units.

Explaining the choice of such an unusual title, Emilija Kovač explained that the huia is a New Zealand species of sacred bird that became extinct due to human activities, making it a metaphor for disappearing values. The title of the collection is also a tribute to endangered nature, whose dignity has been ruthlessly stripped in the modern world.
