Wolves of the Beyond 2: Shadow Wolf
Faolana is accused by the pack of killing a wolf cub and must escape to find the real culprit himself. As his own pack pursues him, his fight for survival becomes a fight for truth and belonging.
Wolves of the Beyond 2: Shadow Wolf is the second novel in the Kathryn Lasky series and continues Faolan's story after his difficult entry into the wolf world. Although he has survived rejection and loneliness, Faolan has not yet become an equal member of the community. The pack still views him with distrust because he is different: he grew up outside their rules, relies on his own experience and does not easily fit into the strict hierarchy.
The central plot begins when a wolf cub is killed, and suspicion falls precisely on Faolan. The accusation turns him into an outcast again and puts his life in immediate danger. To save himself, he must escape and discover who the real killer is, but the problem is that he is pursued not only by the enemy but also by his own pack. Thus, the plot turns into a tense search in which Faolan simultaneously flees, investigates the clues and tries to understand the dark tensions within the wolf community.
The novel is more like a wolf crime plot than a pure adventure. It has important themes of doubt, prejudice, justice and loneliness. Faolan not only proves that he is not guilty, but also that the value of an individual is not determined by rumors or the fear of the pack. The story therefore deepens his character: he is no longer just a surviving loner, but a wolf who must preserve composure and morality in a community that is ready to quickly condemn him.
