Roaming: SMS roman

Roaming: SMS roman

Anna Dassiaglo

If you're looking for something innovative and different from classic prose, this is an excellent choice – especially for fans of contemporary Serbian literature and experimental forms.

The novel follows the relationship between her – an English professor whose life is "played out via satellite" (a modern, detached woman) and him – a musician who wants to replace notes with robots (a creative with a modern, somewhat cynical view of the world). The story emerges from two adulteries and two seemingly unrelated deaths. Through text messages, we follow their emotional exchange, flirtation, conflicts, longing, love, betrayal and introspection. The messages are authentic – with typos, abbreviations and the way they were actually written on mobile phones of that time (without diacritics).
