Ken Parker #26: Žig McCormackovih / Van vremena / Slike
A ranch murder, Teddy’s search for his father and an extraordinary encounter with Dylan Dog bring together three stories crossing the boundaries of law, time and reality.
Žig McCormackovih / Van vremena / Slike brings together three approaches to Ken Parker’s adventures: a Western murder mystery, a story within a story and a supernatural meeting between two celebrated comics characters.
In Žig McCormackovih, Ken recovers at a ranch whose owners believe him to be a lawman. The murder of their son draws him into an investigation. A sheriff’s star takes on particular significance for someone whose relationship with the law is more complicated than his hosts realise. Trust and an assumed identity shape the mystery.
In Van vremena, Ken’s adopted son Teddy leaves home to help his father. Along the way, he reads one of Ken’s novels, connecting the adventure to Ken’s own work as a writer. The protagonist also becomes a storyteller, allowing experience and invention to interact.
The short story Slike brings Ken together with Dylan Dog through a mysterious painting and a supernatural experience. Carlo Ambrosini connects the Western setting with the world of the Nightmare Investigator. The volume’s variety makes it appealing to readers interested both in Ken’s crime adventures and in the series’ more imaginative experiments.
