Zagor – Priče iz Darkwooda #3: Banda Meleza
Ten years after her daughter’s abduction, a mother asks Zagor for help. The trail leads into Canada, towards a Métis gang that kidnaps women and sells them into slavery.
A mother whose daughter was abducted ten years earlier asks Zagor to find her and bring her home. He crosses the Canadian border on the trail of a ruthless Métis gang. Its members raid American territory, abducting young women who are then sold into slavery or forced into marriage.
Banda Meleza combines a missing-person search with the emotional weight of a mother’s long wait. The decade since the abduction gives her request particular urgency: her hope has survived even as the prospect of a reunion has grown increasingly uncertain. Zagor accepts a task that demands persistence as well as courage.
Writer Moreno Burattini draws on familiar western elements — border raids, outlaws and pursuit — while placing individual freedom and the consequences of violence against women at the centre of the story. Max Bertolini provides the artwork.
The third issue of Priče iz Darkwooda offers an adventure with a serious human concern at its heart. Its suspense rests on whether Zagor can fulfil a mother’s wish after so many years.
