The Boy from the Sutle River is a biographical novel by Milivoje Matošec about the childhood of Josip Broz Tito. Through an idealized depiction of his upbringing, the author highlights the traits that represent him as a future leader and national hero.
Matošec je i ovim romanom za djecu potvrdio svoju sklonost građenju “hibridnog”, jer osim što je prvenstveno znanstveno-fantastičan, roman istodobno pripada i dječjem krimiću i pustolovnom romanu i ljubiću. Lektira za šesti razred osnovne škole.
Djetinjstvo (1852.) prva je knjiga autobiografske trilogije (s Odrastanje i Mladost), gdje Tolstoj kroz oči desetogodišnjeg dječaka Nikolinke Irtenjeva istražuje svijet djetinjstva – nevinost, radosti, tuge i prve traume.
