Ilustrirana povijest svijeta: Pretpovijest

Ilustrirana povijest svijeta: Pretpovijest

Neil Morris

The first volume of the Illustrated History of the World series: from the Big Bang, the origin of the Earth and life to the evolution of man and the first farmers. A richly illustrated encyclopedia for young people and adults.

The content is clear, accessible and educational, intended for children older than 8–10 years, but also for adults who want a quick introduction to prehistory. The book begins with cosmological beginnings (the Big Bang, the formation of the universe and the Earth), moves on to geological eras, the appearance of life (single-celled organisms, fish, amphibians, reptiles, dinosaurs), mass extinctions, the evolution of mammals and finally the appearance of humans: hominids, Homo erectus, Neanderthals, Homo sapiens, the first tools, art (cave drawings), hunting and gathering and the Neolithic Revolution (agriculture, animal husbandry, the first settlements).

The text is clear, concise, with an abundance of chronological frameworks, maps, reconstructions and photographs of fossils/artifacts. The goal is to popularize the science of the origin of the world and humanity, with an emphasis on key events and changes.
