"Mama, I Love You", a novel by William Saroyan published in 1956, and in Croatia in 1958 in the "Vjeverica" library, is an autobiographical story told from the perspective of a nine-year-old girl, Twink, inspired by Saroyan's daughter Lucy.

The short story "The Bear and the Fox" was published by Fehim H. Baščausević in the magazine Behar Vi/3 in 1905. "Višeput prevareni vuk" was published in 1883 by Nikola Tordinac in the book Croatian Folk Songs and Tales from Bosnia.
