Retrospective exhibition
The monograph reconstructs the life and work of Ivan Rein, a famous and prematurely deceased Croatian painter of Jewish origin in the whirlwinds of World War II.
The monograph also provides a biographical framework, an analysis of thematic cycles, an interpretation of the artist's dominant motifs, and numerous reproductions of paintings.
The book consists of an introduction by Marina A. Besonova, a part with reproductions (294) and a 75-page catalog, which was made by Ana G. Barska and collaborators.
The mosaics executed in Rome in the period from the 3rd century to the Renaissance belong to the masterpieces of late classicism and medieval art.
