Vasilije Jordan absolvierte die Schule für Angewandte Kunst (1953) und die Akademie der Bildenden Künste (1958) in der Klasse von Prof. Ljube Babić. Seine berufliche Laufbahn als unabhängiger Künstler begann 1960. Er ist Träger zahlreicher Auszeichnungen für Malerei, unter anderem des Preises der Stadt Zagreb im Jahr 1969 und des jährlichen „Vladimir Nazor“-Preises im Jahr 1992. Über Jordans Malerei wurden mehrere kurze Dokumentarfilme gedreht. Er war ordentlicher Professor der Abteilung für Zeichnung und Malerei an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Zagreb.
