Alexandre Dumas – Četrdeset pet vitezova, izdanje iz 1966. godine, dio je velike trilogije o političkim i religijskim previranjima u Francuskoj tijekom kraja 16. stoljeća.

"Četrdeset pet vitezova" odvija se tijekom vladavine Henrika III., u doba kada je Francuska rastrgana između katolika i hugenota (protestanata). Naslov se odnosi na četrdeset pet kraljevih tjelohranitelja, izabranih iz redova plemstva kako bi mu osigurali vlastitu sigurnost u politički nestabilnom vremenu. Četrdeset pet vitezova zaokružuje Dumasovu povijesno-političku trilogiju o Francuskoj u burnom razdoblju vjerskih ratova. Iako nije toliko poznat kao Tri mušketira, ovo djelo nudi dubok uvid u dvorske igre moći, lojalnost, izdaju i osobnu čast.
