Etika i seks

Etika i seks

Igor Primorac

A philosophical analysis of sexual ethics, the first in our field, explores why sex has long been taboo in Western culture – the influence of Greek philosophy and Christianity has created discomfort, guilt, and a problematic view of sexuality.

Primorac, a Croatian philosopher of ethics, considers four key conceptions of sex: as a means of procreation, as a means of a certain type of relationship (e.g. marriage), as a part of erotic love, or as a source of pure pleasure. Through clear, engaging arguments, the author challenges the romantic ideologisation of sex and "unnatural" practices, emphasizing that sexual perversion is not inherently evil, but rather contextual.

The book addresses the questions: Is there sexual morality? Is consent enough? It analyzes "pure sex" (sex and nothing more) versus emotional relationships, criticizing prejudices and cultural norms. Primorac advocates an ethical approach where sex is a part of human freedom, but not without responsibility - it condemns violence and manipulation, but supports autonomy.
