Zaboravljene djevojke

Zaboravljene djevojke

Sara Blaedel

Investigator Louise Rick will learn that only the forgotten are truly missing...

The body of an unknown woman was found in a forest near Copenhagen. A specific scar on her face should have made it easier for the police to identify her, but no one reported her missing. As the new head of the Missing Persons Unit, investigator Louise Rick decides to release a photograph of the victim to the media in the hope that this will help them find someone who knew her.

The move paid off for her: Louise received a call from an elderly woman who recognized the victim as Lisemette, as a little girl whom she cared for many years ago in a state institution for the mentally ill. Like the other children in the institution, Lisemette was also abandoned by her family, after which the girl was labeled a "forgotten girl". But what is really disturbing is that Lisemette had a twin sister and that both girls had death certificates issued more than thirty years ago.

When the investigation takes her to her hometown, Louise discovers more crimes committed in the forest, but also a terrifying link with her own past that was carefully hidden until now...
