Knjiga o džungli

Knjiga o džungli

Rudyard Kipling

A collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling, the most famous of which follows the boy Mowgli, who is found as a baby and raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. There are also the wolf Akela, the panther Bagheera, the bear Baloo, and the tiger Shere Khan, w

Mowgli learns the laws of the jungle with the help of his animal teachers, especially Baloo and Bagheera, who teach him wisdom, courage, and respect for nature. Although he grows up among animals, Mowgli is constantly torn between two worlds – human and animal. Throughout the story, he faces many challenges: being kidnapped by monkeys, fighting Shere Khan, and finally returning to the people, where he also fails to find true belonging.

In addition to Mowgli's adventures, the collection also contains other animal stories that convey moral lessons, such as the stories of the white seal Kotick and the brave mongoose Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.

Kipling uses the fairy-tale style to convey deeper messages about growing up, friendship, the laws of the community, and respect for nature. The Jungle Book is not just a children's book, but a multi-layered work that speaks of identity, belonging, and the balance between freedom and responsibility.
