Zagor LU #87: Noć krvoprolića
Zagor and Chico join a desperate defence against the Malecite. The siege’s conclusion gives way to a new adventure featuring the painter Henry Summers.
Noć krvoprolića brings together two adventures and two distinctive creative teams. In the opening section, Zagor and Chico help defend a fort against the Malecite. Their companions include Sergeant Stone and men whose pasts hardly suggest heroism, yet a common danger forces them to work together.
Marcello Toninelli and Francesco Gamba conclude a story built around the siege Western. Confined space, the attackers’ numerical advantage and the defenders’ exhaustion create a situation in which every decision matters. Courage, solidarity and the possibility of redemption emerge as familiar divisions give way to the immediate struggle to survive.
The second section changes direction. Mauro Boselli and Mauro Laurenti begin Uno straniero a Pleasant Point, introducing the painter Henry Summers. A character who approaches the world through art offers a different perspective on frontier life and the people who inhabit it.
The issue’s appeal lies partly in this transition from military action to a fresh adventure mystery. The new story continues in Ludens #88, Kradljivac sjena, and concludes in the opening section of #89, Čovjek s puškom. Readers therefore encounter both the resolution of one conflict and the foundations of another narrative.
